DATA COPY / BACKUP SERVICES
We provide data transfer / backup services for your laptop or desktop at your door steps. You must have a backup hard disk or ssd for this purpose. The User/Data Owner: The individual who owns or is responsible for specific data has the primary responsibility to ensure that critical information is backed up before any technical work or repair, especially when bringing in a personal device for service. The technician typically has the customer sign a work order that explicitly states the limits of their liability regarding potential data loss during the repair process. The IT Department/Backup Administrator: Within an organization, the IT department or a specific backup administrator is responsible for establishing, managing, monitoring, and testing comprehensive backup systems and policies to protect company data. They define the scope, schedule, and procedures for backups and ensure they are working correctly. The Technician: The technician performing the work should follow best practices, which often include reminding the user to back up their data, but the ultimate liability for the user's personal data usually falls on the user, as outlined in most service agreements. A good technician might take a backup themselves as a precautionary measure, but this should not be assumed by the user. In short, while the technician should remind the user, the data owner (user or a designated company role) is ultimately responsible for ensuring their data is safe before any potentially disruptive work is performed.
