Transforming Shree Harisiddhi School: A Sajilo Project Initiative

At Sajilo Project, we believe that every student deserves access to clean, safe, and hygienic sanitation facilities. When we learned about the challenges faced by students at Shree Harisiddhi School, we knew immediate action was needed. The school’s toilets were unclean, lacked a proper water supply, and posed serious health risks to students due to unhygienic conditions. Additionally, some bathrooms were unsafe, and there was no dedicated system for managing sanitary waste.

Identifying the Problem

After discussions with the school principal and staff, we identified the key issues:

  • Unclean and unhygienic toilets

  • No water supply for handwashing and urinals

  • Insufficient bathroom facilities leading to health concerns among students

  • Lack of proper sanitary waste disposal

  • No roof on certain bathroom areas, exposing students to harsh weather

  • Unsafe structures, requiring urgent repairs for student safety

Our Solution: A Complete Sanitation Overhaul

With the support of Rotary Club of Yala, Sajilo Project took on the task of renovating the school’s sanitation facilities. Our efforts included:

✅ Installation of a proper handwashing system to promote hygiene

✅ Regular cleaning of bathrooms to maintain cleanliness and safety

✅ Placement of informative stickers in bathrooms, guiding students on proper sanitary pad disposal

✅ Water supply installation for toilets and urinals to ensure proper flushing and hygiene

✅ Repairing unsafe structures to prevent accidents and ensure student safety

✅ Adding safety grills in vulnerable areas to create a secure environment

✅ Fresh urinal installation with a consistent water supply

✅ Complete bathroom painting to improve cleanliness and aesthetics

Impact on Students and School Environment

The transformation has greatly improved hygiene and safety at Shree Harisiddhi School. Students now have access to clean, well-maintained restrooms, reducing health risks and ensuring a more comfortable school environment. With proper sanitation infrastructure in place, the school is better equipped to support students' well-being and education.

A Collective Effort for a Better Future

This initiative was made possible through the generosity of Rotary Club of Yala and the dedication of Sajilo Project. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact on schools and communities, ensuring that every child has access to clean and safe sanitation facilities.

At Sajilo Project, we continue to strive for better hygiene, better health, and a better future for students in Nepal.
